The 14th annual U.S.-Africa Business Summit featured a panel discussion on Friday in Marrakech that highlighted the potential of the African continent as a fresh source of growth for the automobile industry. They stressed the need for African countries to improve the competitiveness of their products and their after-sales experiences in order to seize new opportunities in the global market.
Plan for Industrial Acceleration (PAI)
According to Mohamed Bachiri, General Manager of Renault Group Morocco, the automotive industry is one of the core sectors on which the Industrial Acceleration Plan (PAI) is focused.
It is a true "success story" that has profited immensely from luring manufacturers to such regions. This has aided in making the Kingdom a centre for the automobile business. Mr. Bachiri noted that the "Made In Morocco" brand is promoted in more than 60 sites by this industry, which has developed into Morocco's top exporter and second in terms of employment generation. He demonstrated this by pointing to Morocco's incredibly fruitful experience in this field.
Brand-New Car Types in Morocco
He claims that with the production of new vehicle models in Morocco, including electric vehicles, the Moroccan automotive sector is entering a new period of its history marked by the development of skills, technology, and decarbonization.
Expansion of the Automobile Sector
Alan Kyerematen, the minister of trade and industry for Ghana, agreed with him and applauded Morocco for its initiatives to advance the automotive sector.
He claims that the fact that the Kingdom of Morocco currently works with the largest international firms is a win for both the nation and the continent of Africa as a whole. Ford Group spokesman Juan Carlos Gonzalez stated that the corporation is interested in African efforts to enhance the auto industry. He stated, "as a result, we will keep diversifying our African suppliers and increasing the turnover of our purchasing activities.
